Dr Narendran Ulaganathan was appointed as a Consultant Anaesthetist at Warrington and Halton Hospital in 2008. He is a Lead Acute Pain Consultant at Warrington and Halton Hospitals NHS Foundation trust.
He has previously held positions as Governance lead for Anesthesia and critical care at Warrington Hospital and as Surgical Divisional Integrated Governance lead. Narendran graduated from Chengalpattu Medical college in India in 1996. He undertook anesthesia and intensive care training at various university hospitals in Manchester, Salford, Wythenshaw and Preston and district general hospitals in Blackburn, Lancaster and Bolton. He has undertaken specialist training for 6 months in orthopaedic anaesthethesia at Wrightington Hospital (which is considered the centre of excellence in the Northwest of England) to perform Ultrasound guided regional anaesthesia and to refine skills in ambulatory orthopedic surgery including the enhanced recovery pathway.
His areas of special interest include Orthopaedic anaesthesia, Regional anaesthesia and the management of acute post-operative pain.
Currently he works with Mr. Fahad Attar in the private sector and anaesthetises patients for his operative lists.
Personal Interests include teaching relaxation and guided meditation.
